De Ark House dates back to 1857, which makes it one of the oldest remaining buildings in Lydenburg. Initially built as a parsonage, the house was completed in late 1857 with Rev JH Neethling and his family as the first residents. In 1893 it was converted into a double-storey building.
During the Anglo-Boer War the house was confiscated by the British and used as an officer's mess.
This delightful old house has been lovingly restored and tastefully decorated to reveal the timelessness of a bygone era combined luxury.
De Ark offers a combination of self-catering and Bed & Breakfast services. We can currently accommodate up to 20 persons sharing.
