South Africa will be hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup™… This event will take place between the months of June and July 2010!
On the 15th of May in Zurich, Switzerland, it was announced to the utter excitement of the public and interested parties that South Africa will host the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Soccer Event! It only took 1 round of voting for South Africa to ‘win’ this wonderful hosting opportunity…
South Africa has had many great opportunities to host international sporting events in the past such as; The Rugby World Cup, The Cricket World Cup and other amazing sporting events… and soon it will be the 2010 FIFA World Cup™!
South Africa has decided to renovate and even build new stadiums – which the government has decided to invest billions towards! This investment also includes the renovation of the airports, roads ways and rail systems… Overall South Africa is committed and is getting ready for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ event!
The soccer matches will be hosted at 10 different stadiums in South Africa. These Stadiums are; Soccer City (Soweto), Ellis Park (Johannesburg), King's Park Stadium (Durban), Free State Stadium (Bloemfontein), Greenpoint Stadium (Cape Town), Mbombela Stadium (Nelspruit), Peter Mokaba Stadium (Polokwane), Nelson Mandela Stadium (Port Elizabeth), Loftus Versfeld (Pretoria) and Royal Bafokeng (Rustenburg).
The matches consist of 32 teams from 6 confederations playing against each other in a predetermined match schedule… The teams are put into different groups; Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D, Group E, Group F, Group G, Group H… Each team is allocated to a group and they then will play against each other according to the below schedule… and on the 11th of July (at Soccer City in Johannesburg) the final 2010 FIFA World Cup™ soccer match will be played and the winning team will be the named the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Soccer Champions!
